MVB Sprint Day Privacy Notice
Version 1.0, 25 August 2026
This notice explains how Tramlines Ventures Ltd uses personal data in connection with MVB Sprint Day, including applications, selection, attendance, and optional MVB/Tramlines updates.
Who is responsible for your data
Tramlines Ventures Ltd (company number 15660709) is responsible for the personal data described in this notice. Its registered office is Third Floor, 14 Clerkenwell Green, London, England, EC1R 0DP.
For privacy requests, contact legal@tramlines.com.
Personal data we collect
Depending on the application route, we may collect:
- name, email address, city and country, professional role, employer or company, sector experience, technical background, LinkedIn profile address or an indication that you do not have one, and referral details;
- information about your business or idea, including business name, website, business stage, revenue or capital status, incorporation and SEIS status, focus, idea, problem, competitors, monetisation thinking, work history, pitch-deck or one-pager links, and other information you choose to provide;
- information about co-founders or potential team members, such as name, email address and role;
- availability, attendance, event communications and, where needed after selection, information necessary to arrange reasonable adjustments; and
- limited technical information produced when you use our website, including information used to protect the site and application process.
Please do not include trade secrets, patent-sensitive information, confidential information belonging to another person, or unnecessary personal data about another person in an application.
Where data comes from
We normally receive information directly from you. A lead applicant may provide a co-applicant’s name and email address. If you provide another person’s details, please make sure they know about the application and this notice. We may contact them directly where this is needed to administer the application or an offered place.
We may also consider information that you choose to link to in your application, such as a LinkedIn profile, website, pitch-deck or one-pager.
Why we use data
We use personal data to:
- receive, validate and administer applications;
- assess applications against the published criteria and make human selection decisions;
- contact applicants and co-applicants about selection, waitlists, attendance and Event arrangements;
- run the Event, provide reasonable adjustments, manage safety and conduct concerns, and administer the Winner’s incubation support and Investment Committee pitch opportunity;
- protect the application process, prevent misuse or duplicate submissions, and deal with complaints, claims or legal obligations; and
- send optional Tramlines/MVB marketing only where you have chosen to receive it.
We use data where this is necessary to consider your application, administer an accepted place, meet legal obligations, or pursue our legitimate interests in running a fair, secure Event and protecting our legal rights. We use consent for optional marketing.
Selection is made by people. Tramlines may use standard tools to summarise applications for review, but no AI or automated tool decides whether an applicant is accepted or rejected. You may ask Tramlines to review a material process error by emailing leo.tyson@tramlines.com within seven days after notification.
Who receives data
During application review, information is available to Tramlines investment and operations personnel who need it for selection and administration. If you are selected to attend, submitted material may also be available to Tramlines Limited Partners, Investment Advisers, and a small number of external mentor partners where needed to run the Event and provide feedback or mentoring.
We may also share the minimum necessary information with venue, catering, technology, hosting, database, email, security, professional advice, and other service providers that support the Event; and with authorities, insurers or advisers where this is required by law or reasonably necessary to deal with a claim or safety issue.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use an application to provide your contact details to partners or sponsors for their own marketing.
International transfers
Some service providers may process or support personal data outside the UK. Where this happens, we use an appropriate transfer mechanism or safeguard required by data-protection law.
How long we keep data
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. This may include retaining application, attendance, acceptance, and communication records for an appropriate period to administer the Event, maintain a record of the process, resolve a complaint, establish or defend legal rights, or meet a legal requirement. We then delete or anonymise the information where appropriate.
Information provided to arrange an adjustment or other sensitive Event need is handled separately and retained only for as long as needed for that arrangement or a related safety or legal issue.
Marketing
The application form may offer a separate, optional choice to receive Tramlines/MVB newsletters, future MVB Sprint Day announcements, and other Tramlines/MVB programme updates. This is not required to apply, be selected, attend, or receive Event administration.
You can withdraw marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or by contacting us. We do not use this choice for partner or sponsor marketing.
Cookies and similar technology
We use limited technology that is necessary to secure and deliver the website and application process. This includes Cloudflare bot-management controls and hCaptcha when you submit an application. These services may process limited technical information to prevent abuse and protect the service. We do not use analytics or marketing cookies on this website.
Keeping data secure
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. Access is limited to people and service providers who need it for the purposes described in this notice.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions and limits in data-protection law, you may ask us to:
- give you access to your personal data;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete data;
- restrict or object to processing;
- provide data you gave us in a portable format where that right applies; and
- withdraw marketing consent at any time.
Email legal@tramlines.com to make a request. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice where the Event, application process or data use changes. We will publish the updated version and effective date on the MVB Sprint Day site.
